This is a 1 of 1 custom piece hand crafted with no machinery involved. This design begins with a Vintage Avirex A-2 Jacket. The entire jacket has been hand dyed blue. When the dye compromises with the original brown it creates a deep navy. The depth of the blue varies throughout the surface due to the aging discoloration of the original piece. From the base of the jacket you can see all elasticity fabric including the wrist cuffs has been reinforced with hand stitched red leather patchwork. This technique creates a sturdy durability but sacrifices the stretch. All the original Avirex patches on the jacket have been dyed red. The inside zipper flap has been left original brown to add contrast. The two large lower pockets have been completely layered in red leather with a double stitch running across the top. The top left chest patch is created by deconstructed details from the lining of the jacket. The faux fur on the collar has been shaved down and fully covered in red leather. The collar button flap is layered in red leather patchwork to keep the collar scheme consistent from bottom to top. All patches on the jacket are accentuated by a single stitch tracing technique that reinforces the original patch and adds depth to the design. The left profile of the jacket presents an upper and lower patch. The upper is an original Avirex and the lower is a multicolored layered patch identified by the 996+4 signature. The right side profile is a three patch design. The top patch is original and the lower two are patterned. The middle patch presents the iconic scale stitched on the top layer stained in blue. The lower patch is a framed detail tag from the interior of the jacket. The back of the jacket is centered by a large original WW2 Blood chit bracketed in a hand stitched leather frame. This jacket has withstood the test of time and does have the scars to prove it. Signs of age, wear, and tear frequent the surface. As with all of my pieces, this is a true 1 of 1, guaranteed to never be duplicated or mass produced.
